WHERE TO PUT NEW TIRES WHEN ONLY BUYING 2?

Always put new tires when buying less than a set of four on the rear of the vehicle, as long as they are the same size and not on a car with a staggered fitment. The average driver can better control a blowout on the front by simply controlling the steering wheel. If a blowout on the rear occurs the vehicle has a tendency to sway more to the sides and the driver has a tendency to overcorrect with steering input, causing the vehicle to lose control much faster. Even though you can have a tire blowout anywhere on the vehicle there is more tread depth to work with, harder for objects to penetrate tire, and better water displacement. Keeping the car grounded and the driver in control is the most important role a tire has.
